Licensing (Prints or Reproducible Sets)

One Time Use License:
Most purchasers only need to buy a one time use license. When someone wishes to build by the designer's plan a LICENSE must be purchased. Pricing for the number of sets received with a LICENSE may vary. Please see the HOUSE PLAN LICENSING INFORMATION chart available for each plan.

Multiple Use License:
Builders may wish to construct more than one home from the same plan. To allow for this privilege, a builder must purchase a reproducible set with a multiple use license allowing for more than one construction of the same plan. Each Designer has their own policy regarding this privilege. Pricing for Jannis Vann & Associates, Inc. can be found on each plan's Information sheet.

Reproducible Sets:

Reproducible Sets are needed when the purchaser of the License:

1. wants to modify the stock home plan they have chosen. Jannis Vann & Associates, Inc. can provide these services on a limited basis. If you choose to have the work done locally, it is recommended that you choose a local Design Professional because the person modifying the plans assumes liability since Jannis Vann & Associates, Inc. has not reviewed these changes. When you change or modify the plans, you have created a derivative work. Ownership of this derivative work remains the intellectual property of Jannis Vann & Associates, Inc. and may not be resold or constructed again without the purchase of a multiple use license.

2. needs to have information added to the plan to meet local building code enhancements. The reproducible may be taken to a local Designer, Engineer or Architect for the addition of this information before copies are made.

A release is provided with a reproducible set allowing for these changes. When modifications are complete this release will allow a printer to make up to 10 copies for use in the construction of one dwelling.

Reproducible Sets are also used by builders to print plans as needed for construction. When a builder wishes to build a plan more than one time a Multiple Use License is required. Please see each plan's Licensing Information to determine that price.
